One-Year-Old Teachers

My name is Lauren and I am the lead teacher in the one-year-old classroom. I was born and raised in Flagstaff. I graduated from Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy in 2012 and went to Coconino Community College to get my Certified Nursing Assistance license. I worked in an adult assisted living facility for 2 years.  I started working at Kingdom Kids when we opened in September 2014 and have been working at my dream job ever since.

I just wanted to introduce myself and give you the opportunity to get to know me just a little bit better! My name is Laurinda Caird and I am the lead teacher of the one year old room. I started working for Kingdom Kids last March as an assistant of the one year old room. As the need arose I was glad to take over as the lead teacher.

I have been teaching preschool children since I was 13 years old. I have been a nanny, and babysat many different children. I have worked in and out of daycare/preschools to help pay my way through college. During the summers I would work as a summer missionary to teach Vacation Bible School to 13 different churches throughout the summer. I have been a Daycare Director and eventually own my own Daycare. I have a masters in Religious Education, Bachelors in University Studies with an emphasis in early childhood, and an Associates in Daycare Management.

I am really excited to have been given this opportunity to teach your children. One of the things that excites me most is to see each child learn and grow throughout the year. My goal is to provide opportunities for each child to grow and develop new skills throughout the year. We will be following the ABC curriculum the school uses, which will cover learning colors, shapes, and the basic concepts like language and identifying facial features and other day to day items. We will be having a short music time and reading time with the children so they can begin to learn to sit in 'group time'.  My ultimate goal is that each child will know and feel special and know that God Loves them very much.
